KOSTAL PLENTICORE MP - the new generation as a single-phase inverter

The new PLENTICORE MP combines proven PLENTICORE technology with innovative developments. The single-phase KOSTAL inverter ensures efficient conversion of solar power into usable household electricity.

Thanks to its versatility, the PLENTICORE MP can be used as a solar, hybrid or battery inverter. The option of adjusting the inverter's output at any time to meet increasing energy demands is particularly future-oriented – even after installation.

With an output range of 3 to 7 kW, the PLENTICORE MP is perfect for smaller PV systems and complements the new PLENTICORE generation in the lower output segment. In the S and M variants, it delivers a maximum MPP current of 17 A.

The PLENTICORE MP includes all the product features of the third PLENTICORE generation. Thanks to its up to three MPP trackers, the KOSTAL inverter is the ideal choice for both new PV systems and retrofits.

PLENTICORE MP is available in two versions: S (3.0 to 4.0 kW) and M (4.6 to 7.0 kW). Within power class S, it can be expanded from 3 to 3.6 or optionally 4 kW for a PLENTICOIN. If you want to upgrade from 3.6 kW to 4 kW, this will not cost you any additional PLENTICOIN, regardless of when the upgrade is carried out. The M power class has 4.6 or 5 kW as standard, depending on the country specification. It can be upgraded to 6 or 7 kW for one PLENTICOIN at a time.

Thanks to this adaptability, there is no need for a costly device replacement or the purchase of new hardware when energy requirements increase or the solar system is expanded. This saves costs, is sustainable and ensures maximum comfort.

The PLENTICORE MP adapts to these requirements: it can efficiently store surplus energy, charge an electric vehicle or support the operation of a heat pump. An inverter that grows with the PV system – today and tomorrow.

The PLENTICORE MP is suitable for use in both new photovoltaic systems and for retrofitting existing systems. It can be used flexibly as a hybrid or battery inverter by connecting a high-voltage battery to the third DC input.

The new PLENTICORE MP is compatible with a wide range of battery storage systems from different manufacturers. Many of these storage systems have a modular design and offer flexible expansion options as well as various advantages for individual applications.

Thanks to DC coupling and modern high-voltage technology, the PLENTICORE MP is particularly efficient, as conversion losses are reduced to a minimum.

KOSTAL regularly confirms the outstanding system performance of PLENTICORE technology by taking part in the renowned storage test conducted by HTW Berlin, in which the inverter has received multiple awards since 2018. A list of all approved battery storage systems can be found here.

The single-phase PLENTICORE MP offers a practical battery-backup function. In combination with the KOSTAL BackUp Switch and a connected battery storage unit, the power supply is guaranteed even in the event of a grid failure – completely independently of the public grid.

The KOSTAL BackUp Switch is easy to install as a manual switch on the DIN rail in the sub-distribution board at the grid connection point. Thanks to the minimal installation effort, assembly is quickly done and handling is uncomplicated.

In the event of a power failure, the KOSTAL BackUp Switch is manually switched to backup power. The power is provided directly from your own solar system and the connected battery storage.

This makes adding the backup power function of the PLENTICORE MP particularly easy and convenient – ideal for a reliable backup power supply.

The PLENTICORE MP G3 inverter is the perfect match for the single-phase KOSTAL ENECTOR 7.4 wallbox, enabling you to use self-generated PV power efficiently to charge an electric car. Both products are made by KOSTAL and are synonymous with quality ‘Made in Germany’. This ensures seamless installation and commissioning and guarantees reliable operation in everyday use. The single-phase PLENTICORE MP is perfectly matched to the requirements of modern solar power systems and offers comprehensive safety functions – as you would expect from an inverter ‘Made in Germany’. A particularly important safety feature is the integrable DC surge protection (type 2), which can be easily installed in the PLENTICORE MP as a plug-in module if required.

This surge protection safeguards against induced surge voltages that could enter the system from the solar module side.

In the event of a lightning strike, the DC surge protection is activated and the PLENTICORE MP automatically reports the incident to the KOSTAL Solar Portal. The surge protection can be replaced or retrofitted at any time to ensure the long-term security of the system.

The PLENTICORE MP is a versatile inverter that unlocks the full potential of modern and future solar power systems. The solar power generated can be used to efficiently operate and intelligently manage energy-intensive consumers such as wallboxes, air conditioning systems, heat pumps or heating rods.

For optimal networking, the PLENTICORE is equipped ex works with two LAN ports and four digital switching outputs, which enables easy integration and control of consumers within the solar system.

Thanks to the integrated WLAN interface without visible antennas, commissioning and configuration are particularly convenient. It also allows for fast data exchange for monitoring and analysing the system.

Advanced interfaces such as Modbus TCP and SG Ready offer additional options for connecting further consumers and optimising the energy supply network.

If individual PV modules are affected by shade or if the sun's rays strike the modules at different angles, the PLENTICORE MP's intelligent shade management kicks in.

Thanks to clever MPP tracking, performance losses are avoided and the PV system always achieves the best possible solar yields. The single-phase inverter automatically determines the optimal operating point of the module string to ensure maximum efficiency.

Shadow management is already integrated as standard in the PLENTICORE MP – intelligent, self-learning and reliable.

The PLENTICORE MP impresses with its compact design and small dimensions (H 57 cm / D 24 cm / W 41 cm), which means that it can be easily integrated even where space is limited.
The following options are available for installation and commissioning: either via the PLENTICORE device display or via smartphone – thanks to the guided commissioning wizard, device configuration is simple and step-by-step.

The PV components are connected quickly and safely in the separate connection compartment of the PLENTICORE MP, which is located in the housing-protected area of the power electronics.

The push-in terminals further speed up the wiring, while the auto-update function ensures that the PLENTICORE MP is always equipped with the latest software version to guarantee optimal performance and functionality.
