KOSTAL and PPC: Ready for Future Challenges
§14a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and §9 of the German Renewable Energy Act (EEG) establish key regulations for the flexible control of electricity consumers and generators. §14a EnWG aims to ensure that controllable consumption devices such as electric vehicles, heat pumps, and home storage systems operate in a grid-friendly manner to prevent grid overloads.
§9 EEG mandates that operators of decentralized generation systems, such as photovoltaic installations, reduce their feed-in power during grid overloads. With KOSTAL's new features, these legal requirements are fully met. The solutions enable system operators to manage energy flows flexibly and respond to grid requests in real time, which is crucial for maintaining grid stability.
The PPC "CLS Adapter" serves as a link between the grid operator and the customer’s system. By utilizing EEBUS-based communication, the customer system can be integrated securely and interoperably. Additionally, the digital control provides feedback to grid operators and energy suppliers.
