By providing the KOSTAL Solar Plan planning tool as a web application, KOSTAL Solar Electric GmbH is simplifying the work of system planners and supporting them in finding the optimum KOSTAL inverter for every PV system. The layout is based on the technically feasible limits, which are determined individually for each combination of PV module type and inverter type. Based on the user's specifications, the application determines the best combinations of several different string configurations comprising PV modules and inverter. KOSTAL Solar Plan provides all the relevant data and presents key figures relating to energy and finance, such as the self-consumption rate, the degree of self-sufficiency and various other parameters, including remuneration and savings on electricity costs.

KOSTAL Solar Plan is aimed at installers, solar technicians and system planners who plan, install and commission PV systems. Solar Plan allows users to create projects quickly and easily, although expertise is required to use it. The system planners should have the following qualifications:

• knowledge of how an inverter works and operates
• knowledge of the relevant laws, standards and guidelines

To be able to access the KOSTAL Solar Plan web application, you need a company account in the KOSTAL Solar Terminal and must be assigned the "Planner" role. If you don’t yet have a company account, start by creating one (Registration for the KOSTAL Solar Terminal). The "Planner" role must be assigned to you by your company's administrator.

You must fulfil certain requirements before you can log in to KOSTAL Solar Plan. Access to KOSTAL Solar Plan is only available to B2B customers. For this, you need a company user account in the KOSTAL Solar Terminal and must have been assigned the "Planner" role.

User data is displayed in the settings under "My profile". The "Edit" link takes you to the KOSTAL Solar Terminal as this is the only place where data can be changed. (Note: a new log-in may be required at this point.)

Using the "Add PV module" button, a PV module can be added during planning both in the pop-up window (search for PV modules) and in the settings under "PV module database".
Furthermore, a data sheet for the missing PV module can also be uploaded. This will be added to the PV module database once it has been checked.

You will not be able to save a PV module that you have created yourself if the values entered are implausible or incomplete.

Any PV modules that you create are created and saved in a separate database. The "User" option must therefore be selected on the database. And this is where you will find the modules you have created yourself.

The maximum over-allocation depends on the range set for the power ratio. You can define this using the "Min. power ratio" and "Max. power ratio" parameters.

The dynamic power ratio takes into account both the system location and the orientation and inclination of the PV modules, meaning that the power ratio can be estimated with greater accuracy. This involves checking the maximum power that occurs simultaneously with surfaces with different orientations.
